After I have read some posts on other blogs, where the author wrote down some facts about him/her, I wanted do the same thing about me. However, that is easier said than done. It took over a week to write down all these facts. But, I have accomplished it. I hope that you can identify yourself with some facts.
Here they are, 50 serious and not so serious facts about my person:
| #1 | I speak two languages, German and English. I have learned French for five years in school, but I speak it very badly and never tell anyone. By the way, does Swiss German count as a language? |
| #2 | During my years at school I liked math and science classes and hated all language classes. The tons of rules and exceptions of the different languages were so illegitimate to me. But luckily this has changed for some but not all languages today. |
| #3 | I like the English language. Its simplicity in comparison with other languages helped me a lot getting motivated to learn it. I like to communicate in English with other people. I use all my electronic devices in English and I rather watch movies and TV series in English than in my native language. |
| #4 | I attended recorder classes in school, who did not. I also learned to play the guitar, but did not play it for a long time now. I would like to learn it again. |
| #5 | Speaking of music, I love listening to music. Music is on wherever I am, at work, on the way, in bed, everywhere. I listen to all kinds of music besides some exception. |
| #6 | I can eat whatever I want and I don't gain a single pound. |
| #7 | Coffee, energy drinks, coke, etc. are ineffective for me. I do not feel better or more awake after drinking them. |
| #8 | In spite of the prior fact, I need my daily dose of coffee. I also drink one or two cups of tea every day. I just love these beverages. |
| #9 | I am eating very slowly. By the time everyone at the table finished their dish, I am just half done with my meal. This is driving people crazy and I simply cannot do anything about it. |
| #10 | I like to keep everything nice and tidy. My room is always in excellent shape. I cannot live in a mess. |
| #11 | Apart from my birth, I have never been in a hospital as a patient yet. By the way, the hospital I was born is now a home for the elderly. |
| #12 | I like driving a car and road trips are fascinating me. I am convinced that I am a very good driver. Sometimes I just get into my car and drive around without a destination. The journey is the reward. |
| #13 | I do not have a favorite color, food, drink, etc. I like a lot of things and I could not decide which one would be my favorite. |
| #14 | I love chocolate. I could eat tons of sweets. |
| #15 | I am a perfectionist. Everything I do has to be perfect. Unfortunately, this often takes a lot of time. |
| #16 | I am not a good member of a work group. I prefer to do the work on my own. Thereby, it is done the right way. |
| #17 | In school I was always the shortest person of my class. My height is 5' 5'' or 165 cm. |
| #18 | I like winter as much as summer. |
| #19 | I am a child from the countryside. I could not survive in the city. |
| #20 | I am a sleepyhead. On the weekend, you will find me in my bed until midday. |
| #21 | I am arguing with my brother at least once a day. However, my sister and I get along well. |
| #22 | I am afraid of insects which could hurt me, for instance a wasp. I am also not able to bear insects, bugs, spider, etc. generally. |
| #23 | I am a very shy person. It takes a long time until I become more communicative with other people. |
| #24 | My schoolmates are calling me by the nickname "Simi". People who met me after my schooldays are calling me "Simu". This means, due to the nickname you can tell at which time the person first met me. |
| #25 | I am not a vegetarian. But, I normally do not eat a lot of meat. I could give up my meat consumption without any doubt. |
| #26 | I prefer watching TV series to movies. Right now I cannot get enough of NCIS, The Simpsons, The Big Bang Theory, and several other series. |
| #27 | I look five years younger than my age. I love the facial expression of the people once I tell them my actual age. I always need to have my ID within spitting distance. |
| #28 | I prefer staying at home to going out. I need my lazy weekends where I watch TV, work on my blog or just relax and do nothing. |
| #29 | I am planning and organizing everything. If plans change or someone does not stick with it, I am going to freak out. This is really helpful if friends want to undertake something with me. |
| #30 | The Christmas season is the best time of the year for me. I enjoy spending time and eating dinner with my family at Christmas. |
| #31 | I am a total Microsoft fanboy. I own only Windows PCs and my smartphone is a Windows Phone from Nokia. I even convinced some friends to a product from Microsoft. |
| #32 | I like to fiddle about everything related to IT. My computer network at home has grown to considerable infrastructure over the years. |
| #33 | I am very good with money. I had never been broke or in need to borrow money from someone. |
| #34 | I hate sports. I only play tennis to do at least something, but that is it. I also do not like to watch any kind of sport on TV. |
| #35 | I am a little bit afraid of water. Because of that I cannot dive respectively I cannot open my eyes and need to hold my nose under water. |
| #36 | The United States has been fascinating me since years. With my first journey to the US in 2014 I fulfilled a lifetime dream of mine, and fell in love with the beauty and lifestyle of the state of California. |
| #37 | I prefer city trips to vacations at the beach. I want to see as much as possible of the country I am visiting. But, vacations at the beach are beautiful too. |
| #38 | Although I enjoy traveling, I have visited only four foreign countries by today. |
| #39 | I like thunderstorms and rainy summer evenings. At this time I just look out of the window and relax. |

| #41 | I could and do not want to live without a smartphone anymore. |

| #45 | In bed I always make sure that the side with the buttons of my blanket is at the bottom with my feet and not my head. |

| #48 | I do not have a tattoo or piercing, and I also do not want to have something like that in the future. |
| #49 | I do not smoke, I had never smoked, and I will not smoke in the future. |
